Singer Donnie Wahlberg, wife to divorce

LOS ANGELES - Donnie Wahlberg’s wife has filed for divorce after nearly nine years of marriage, according to court papers obtained by Access Hollywood.

Kim Wahlberg has cited “irreconcilable differences” with the bad boy from New Kids on the Block, according to court documents filed Aug. 13 with the Los Angeles Superior Court. Kim is seeking custody of the couple’s two sons, Alexander, 15, and Elijah, 7.

The couple has been separated since Jan. 16. Their ninth wedding anniversary falls on Wednesday.

The divorce papers follow a celebratory weekend for Donnie, who celebrated his 39th birthday at Las Vegas nightclub Jet on Saturday with fellow New Kids Joey McIntyre and Danny Wood.

The grown-up boy band made a comeback earlier this year, performing again together for the first time since 1994 and prepping a new album, “The Block,” for release on Sept. 2, with a world tour to follow starting Sept. 18.
