LOS ANGELES - Tori Spelling fans aren’t the only ones upset that there are no immediate plans to bring Donna Martin back to West Beverly High — Jennie Garth is totally “bummed.”
In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Garth, who is reprising her role as Kelly Taylor, expressed her disappointment with last week’s news that The CW had no deal for Spelling to return.
“I’m really bummed because I love Tori and I was psyched Tori was going to be on the show,” Garth told the magazine.
Last week, Deadline Hollywood Daily’s Nikki Finke reported that Spelling and producers of the show locked horns over salary. Spelling was reportedly going to be paid $10,000-$20,000 an episode, while her returning co-stars, Garth and Shannen Doherty, were reportedly raking in $35,000-$50,000.
Garth weighed in on the financial debate, noting that Spelling should make similar wages.
“I think she should definitely get paid as much as either of us is getting paid. Her father (Aaron Spelling) created the show,” Garth said. “It just seems wrong if that’s the case. I don’t know what really happened because I haven’t talked to her. I would like to talk to her.”
And Garth said she’s not afraid to speak her mind and voice her concerns to the decision makers.
“I’ll try to butt my head in whenever I can and tell people what I think about it,” Garth said.
But Doherty, who is reprising her role as Brenda Walsh, told EW the salary numbers were off base.
“They didn’t even get the numbers right,” Doherty said. “I don’t know if it’s about the money either.”
