NEW YORK - A bar worker at a Times Squares karaoke club has been arrested in the beating death of a woman who went there during a birthday bash for rapper Lil’ Kim.
Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly says the suspect confessed to beating 24-year-old Ingrid Rivera early Monday with a pipe after they argued on the rooftop of the Spotlight Live club.
Police say charges against Syed Rahman are pending. It was unclear if he had a lawyer.
An autopsy found that Rivera died from a blow to the head.
Rivera went to the club Sunday when it was hosting a party for Lil’ Kim. She was reported missing Tuesday.
Police went to the club Wednesday to review security videotape. After they left, a repairman discovered the body in a utility shed on the roof.
