NEW YORK - New York City police said Tuesday that two men washing windows at a building in downtown Manhattan were killed when the vehicle carrying their lift tipped over.

Detective John Sweeney said the accident occurred around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday. He says the men were working when the contraption fell. They were pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigators were at the scene.
