NEW YORK - Nineteen New York City firefighters are recovering from injuries suffered in a blaze that consumed the top floor of an apartment building.

Fire officials said that 15 firefighters had minor injuries Friday and four were hurt more seriously, but that their injuries are not life-threatening. Two civilians were treated for minor injuries.

The blaze began in Brooklyn in the space between the building's roof and the ceiling of the top floor.
