Britney’s new man: Bodyguard to boyfriend

Snapshots from Britney Spears’ vacation in Los Cabos, Mexico, show the pop star frolicking in the pool and having a good time on the dance floor with someone other than her ever-present conservator-dad, Jamie. According to The Sun, the new main man in Britney’s life is a bodyguard-turned-boyfriend named Lee.

An insider revealed that the former Israeli soldier started working for Britney six months ago, and it wasn’t long before the couple made a love connection.

“Britney and Lee hit it off immediately,” the source told the paper. “They’ve spent so much time together that one thing led to another and their relationship became physical.”

Boyfriend or not, Lee’s still on the payroll. According to the insider, he only assumes his new role on his days off.

Jessica sings from experience
When Jessica Simpson wrote a song about abuse for her upcoming album, “Do You Know,” the words flowed from first-hand experience. In a candid interview with Elle magazine, the singer discussed her songwriting process.

“I had to record that,” Jessica said of “Remember That,” a track that urges women to leave men who physically or verbally harm them. “There’s nothing on my album that you’re gonna hear that I don’t relate to or that I haven’t experienced. Because the only way I know how to sing is from life experience.”

That’s as much as the 28-year-old was willing to share about the particular troubles that inspired the song. She told Elle, “I don’t want to talk about it, but I have definitely experienced abuse in a way that I would tell people to take their heart and run.”

Rosie takes a break from blogging

Those who enjoy their celebrity blogs in rambling haiku form will be disappointed to learn Rosie O’Donnell is taking a month off from her R Blog.

Earlier this week, at the end of a difficult-to-decipher post, Rosie wrote, “i am taking off august / in blog-ville / 2 c if i can / rosie unplugged / happy summer peeps / peace in /peace out”

Dish on the fly
Former “Dancing With the Stars” partners Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough are still together off the dance floor, but they won’t waltz down the aisle anytime soon. Star magazine reports the 23-year-old pro got down on one knee, but Shannon, who’s been married once before, said no. “She's enjoying every moment of their romance, but she's not ready to get hitched again,” a source revealed. But it’s possible the 34-year-old actress could have a change of heart, as according to the source, “(Derek is) very persistent and is used to getting his way.” … The situation is reversed for Kim Kardashian. Her boyfriend hasn’t popped the question, but a little detail like that won’t stop her from planning the big day. The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star told In Touch Weekly she’s ready, even if her NFL boyfriend Reggie Bush isn’t. “I was in Vegas last weekend for a bachelorette party and saw how hectic it is to plan a wedding, so I’ve decided to start planning mine before being asked!” Kim said.
