LOS ANGELES - Rosie O’Donnell is in talks with NBC to make her TV return, according to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello. According to the report, O'Donnell is in discussions with the network about her own primetime variety show.
A rep for NBC had no comment on the report. A rep for O'Donnell wasn’t immediately available for comment.
Though she was last seen in a regular television gig as the moderator on ABC’s “The View,” O'Donnell has a long history at NBC. She famously hosted “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” on the network from 1996-2002.
Less than a year ago, O'Donnell was in talks with MSNBC for her own show, but the cable news channel yanked the deal when word of the reported project was leaked.
O'Donnell addressed the mishap on her blog at the time, stating the leak caused “panic on the studio end.”
“2day there is no deal,” she blogged. “[P]oof … [M]y career as a pundit is over before it began.”
