Gillian Anderson showed off her belly last night at the premiere of her new film, “X-Files: I Want To Believe.”

The star, who turns 40 next month, is expecting her third child, and her second with boyfriend Mark Griffiths.

Anderson told “Access Hollywood” that everything was good with her impending arrival, which she confirmed is due in October.

Though she’s a sci-fi legend for her portrayal of “X-Files” investigator Dana Scully, she won’t be introducing the baby to the genre that made her famous anytime soon.

“I think I might wait a few more years,” Anderson laughed. “It might be a little bit freaky too early on.”

And while things are going great with the pregnancy, filming the new “X-Files” movie wasn’t an easy task.

“I had a difficult time,” Anderson said. “I’d flown in from two international flights and it was a really hard scene. Also, I wasn’t working with David (Duchovny) on my first day. It was with somebody else and I had to go through the gamut of human emotions during the scene as well and I sucked. I sucked so bad.”

It wasn’t until she was paired in the filming process with Duchovny, who plays Fox Mulder, that she finally settled into her role again.

“Into day two and three, I started to feel human, or like Scully again. (I also) had the opportunity to do a scene with David and that made all the difference in the world,” she said.
