For some people, living green is a recreational activity — something they do when the feeling strikes, when the mood is just right. For others, green is a way of life.
As a genuine eco-multitasker, Pamela Peeters falls securely in the second category. Peeters has been a green activist since she was 12 years old (when she launched Grab the Green, her first environmental publication in her native Belgium), and is currently an environmental economist, producer of the Sustainable Planet Film Festival, founder of Sustainable Styles magazine, and host of Sustainable Planet, a New York City-based television program dedicated to eco-issues. I’m not sure how, but she also finds time to help companies and individuals live greener lives through sustainability workshops.
When it comes to integrating eco-awareness into everyday life, Peeters follows a philosophy that’s accessible to everyone from the hardcore planet protector to the person who has recently begun thinking about the environment. “Life is about celebrating every single moment … So it’s better to take little [environmental] steps on a daily basis then to try to change your routine in one day,” she says.
Peeters shares ten suggestions to help you be more eco-aware here.
