NORTH BRADDOCK, Pa. - A gunman opened fire at a suburban Pittsburgh bar late Friday night, wounding at least three people before fleeing, police said.
One person was shot in the head and a second person was hit in the chest during the violence at Crud's in North Braddock, police said. A third person was shot in the foot.
Dave Riggs, 62, said he was watching TV around 10:30 p.m. when he saw a man with a gun by the door. Riggs said he pushed the door against the man, but the suspect's hand remained inside the door and fired four or five rounds from a handgun.
"I just saw he had his hand poking through the door. He just started shooting wildly," said Bill McCaffery, 35, who was upstairs when he heard a commotion on the ground floor.
'Chaos'
"It was just chaos," McCaffery told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "People were hitting the floor."
He said there were about 25 people in the two-story bar at the time of the shooting.
The Allegheny County medical examiner's office said it was called to the scene, about 10 miles east of Pittsburgh, but all victims had been taken to hospitals. The status of the victims was unknown, the medical examiner said early Saturday.
