Tropical Storm Boris forms in east Pacific

Storm located 550 miles off Mexico won't threaten land, forecasters say

MEXICO CITY - Tropical Storm Boris has formed in the east Pacific, but does not threaten land, Miami's National Hurricane Center said Friday.

Located about 550 miles southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, it had maximum sustained winds of 40 mph.

Forecasters said the storm was moving west out to sea at 9 mph.
