Martina Hingis vs. Jelena Dokic (1999)
In 1999 for just the third time in the Open era, the top seed in the women's draw was ousted in the opening round. Martina Hingis was the unlucky loser, and 16-year-old Jelena Dokic was the unlikely victor. In fact, the win was fairly easy for the qualifier, who cruised 6-2, 6-0. Ranked 129th in the women's draw, Dokic became the lowest-seeded player to ever knock off a No. 1 seed. It was just Dokic's fifth career Grand Slam match.
