Matthew McConaughey may be expecting a boy

If their baby-shower gifts are any indication, Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend, Camila Alves, could be expecting a boy.

The couple invited close friends to a baby shower in Malibu June 15, “and all the gifts were wrapped in blue,” an onlooker told OK!.

The couple is keeping quiet about the exact due date, but McConaughey and Alves were recently spotted taking a tour of the maternity floor at UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, where Alves is expected to give birth in midsummer.

True love for Lindsay and Sam Ronson?
The are-they-or-aren’t-they couple of the moment, Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson, still aren’t talking about their relationship, but a friend close to the couple is.

“I’ve never seen Lindsay like this,” a friend of the couple told Us Weekly. The mag reports that another insider thinks there is a serious relationship in the works.

“They really do love each other and are trying to figure out the next step,” the source told the magazine. “When they are ready to go public, they will.”

Mayer’s ex is happy for him
One of John Mayer’s exes, Minka Kelly, told reporters she was happy for Mayer and his new girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, at Self Magazine’s Rock Bodies event on June 18.

Sure, the I’m-really-happy-for them answer is the right one to give, but is the “Friday Night Lights” star really that thrilled about seeing Mayer and Aniston together?

“(Kelly) was so charming when people asked her about John — everyone was so surprised by it actually,” said a source at the event.

One of the reasons Kelly might be taking her ex’s new relationship in stride is that she is rumored to be seeing Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees.

“This is definitely trading up for her,” said a source who knows Kelly.

Weekend box office
I’m almost nostalgic for the days when the weekend box office was a difficult, unpredictable beast. This weekend presents no challenge, as “Get Smart” and “The Love Guru” go head to head.

“Get Smart” opens in 3,700 theaters, has been marketed to within an inch of its life, and stars the eminently likeable Steve Carell, as well as Anne Hathaway (who may or may not have gone so far as to break up with her slightly sketchy Italian boyfriend in order to keep her image clean for opening weekend).

“The Love Guru” on the other hand, stars Mike Myers, who is now known best for not being as funny as he used to be, and the film opens in only 2,700 theaters. Look for “Get Smart” to easily take the No. 1 spot over the weekend.
