Georgia executes man who killed 2 in 1990

JACKSON, Ga. - A Georgia man who claimed his attorney was a racist who put up a flimsy defense has been executed for killing two people.

Curtis Osborne was pronounced dead Wednesday at 9:05 p.m. ET in the second execution in Georgia in the last month. The 37-year-old's execution by lethal injection is also the fourth in the U.S. since the Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the procedure in April.

Osborne, who is black, was convicted of murdering Linda Lisa Seaborne and Arthur Jones in April 1990. He claimed after he was convicted that his white lawyer referred to him by a racial slur.

Prosecutors called his allegations "outlandish."

The U.S. Supreme Court and the Georgia Supreme Court each refused Wednesday to halt the execution.
