According to a source close to the judging panel, “The producers are really hoping that David Cook wins.” The reason shouldn’t come as much of a shocker: “David Archuleta cannot be managed the way that 19 Entertainment wants to manage their winners.”
19 Entertainment produces “American Idol,” signs the winners to management contracts and handles the recording agreements made within the Sony/BMG record label.
“David Archuleta comes to the table with his own plans and agenda. His father is another shade of Joe Simpson, and it can only spell disaster,” the source said.
Cook, on the other hand, “is extremely manageable” in the opinion of the producers, said the source. “The show has enough on its hands trying to get ratings back to where they used to be. The last thing they want is a rogue winner.”
Olsen twins’ Starbucks scandal
De facto Starbucks spokes-twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen might have a scandal on their hands. A former barista from the Olsen’s oft-frequented Starbucks in New York’s West Village allegedly used to swap out skim milk for the full-fat variety when the girls came by for their caffeine fix, reports OK! magazine.

The Olsen’s rep responded to the latte lunacy saying, “This is ridiculous.” Yes, it is, but one fellow latte-lover close to the Olsens (who requested anonymity) said that she sympathizes with the twins — to an extent. “It’s also my worst nightmare — that and getting a huge diet fountain soda that is mistakenly regular Coke — but I can def(initely) taste the difference, so it’s their own fault if they fell victim.”

Miley Cyrus revives her Disney image
Among the big-name performers at the Z100 Zootopia concert on May 17 was recently “embarrassed” Disney star Miley Cyrus. Organizers saved Cyrus’ act for last in a show that also included the Jonas Brothers, New Kids on the Block, Gavin DeGraw and Sarah Bereilles.
Miley appeared on stage, not draped in a bed sheet (or stole, if you prefer), but rather dressed in “tasteful” pants and a white, sequined top, according to attendees. Introduced as “the ultimate pop diva,” Cyrus stuck to her musical program and didn’t address the Vanity Fair photo scandal that brought her so much unwanted attention — a wise move considering Cyrus’ first full-length album under her own name is due for release July 22.
Things with the album, called “Breakout,” are already off to a good start: The first single, “7 Things,” was one of the most-added at U.S. top-40 radio outlets last week, according to Billboard.
