31-year old Norman Wyckoff was arrested Wednesday for his involvement in the Zip Trip robbery. Police believe Wyckoff drove Pounds to and from the store, supplied weapons used during the robbery, and was paid for his assistance.

Wyckoff was booked into the Spokane County Jail for two counts of First-Degree Robbery.

Pounds walked into the Zip Trip at 303 S. Altamont just after midnight Tuesday and told the clerk he was robbing the store. Police say he pointed a gun at two different clerks during the robbery.

The clerk told police he was looking down when the suspect told him it was a robbery, and thought it was a joke until the Pounds pulled out a gun.

After grabbing the money from the drawer Pounds apologized to the clerk, said he needed the cash, and then fled from the store on foot.

A police canine unit tracked the suspect into a nearby residential area where they found his sweatshirt and hat, which they speculate he ditched as he was running.

No one was injured in the incident.
