Mobile County Public Schools have released a list of employees who will lose their jobs at the end of this school year.
(MOBILE, Ala.) May 7 --
School board members voted unanimously Monday to cut more than 400 jobs from the school system next year. The cuts were made to counter a more than $35 million budget shortfall.
Superintendent Dr. Roy Nichols says the cuts will include 173 locally-funded teachers, 86 special education teachers, 107 special education paraprofessionals, 32 assistant principals and 17 counselors.
