AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) -- A local high school student was arrested for selling marijuana brownies at school Monday.
Heather McCurry, 17, told investigators she was selling the brownies so she could buy a laptop computer.
Connally High School officials in Pflugerville were alerted after a girl went to the nurse's office with a racing heart beat. She told the nurse she had eaten some brownies from McCurry and was later taken to the hospital.
McCurry had three individually wrapped brownies when a sheriff's deputy spoke with her. She said she had five brownies when she arrived at school that morning but sold the girl one for $4 and another to a student only know as "Scootch."
McCurry was charged with delivery of marijuana to a child, a second-degree felony.
