Jessica Simpson reportedly jealous of Ashlee

In the days since news of Ashlee Simpson’s possible pregnancy broke, Simpson and her fiancé, Pete Wentz, have issued responses that have sometimes sounded like denials and sometimes just seem cagey. Since their reps have yet to issue a firm “no” on the matter, many outlets are standing by their sources and their story, that the 23-year-old pop star is indeed expecting.

OK! is one of those outlets, and the magazine reports that older sister Jessica is happy for Ashlee, but is having a tough time with the news. “Jessica Simpson has yearned for a baby for years. She’s told friends that she can’t wait to be a mom and has even joked that if she has to, she’ll resort to making her hairstylist pal Ken Paves the adoptive daddy,” the magazine reports.

“Jessica never imagined that her tomboy younger sister would have a baby first,” a source close to Jess told OK! “It would be very hard for her not to be jealous.”

A source close to Ashley concurs: “Jessica couldn’t be happier for her sister but still can’t help feeling jealous. She’d love to be planning a wedding with a baby on the way.”

I wondered whether the one-year anniversary of Keith Richards announcing that he snorted his father’s ashes should be commemorated. Richards, who later denied the story, has now confirmed it to Blender magazine.

“I opened my dad's ashes and some of them blew out over the table, just because of the suction of the lid, you know what I mean? I looked at my dad's ashes down there and — what am I gonna do? Do I desecrate them with a dustbin and broom? So I wet me (sic) finger and I shoved a little bit of Dad up me (sic) hooter.

"The rest of them I put round an oak tree, which is coming up a treat. And I'm sure he's still blessing me,” he told Blender.

Hopefully the two-year anniversary will pass without incident.

Madonna recently told a Phoenix radio station that her husband, Guy Richie, went on the Cookie Diet, and once he started popping the low-cal, meal-replacing cookies, their sex life suffered. “My husband went on that Cookie Diet and it was such a turn-off because he didn’t want to have sex,” she said.

The creator of the diet, Dr. Sanford Siegel, wants to make clear that Richie’s side effect had nothing to do with his cookies. “My cookies taste good enough but I can't imagine someone preferring them to sex,” Siegel said.

Richie isn’t the first celeb to try the diet, which has been around since 1975. Mandy Moore, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson have all reportedly given it a shot, and Howard Stern keeps bags of them on his desk.

Sure, it might not be Madison Square Garden, but Shar Jackson, Kevin Federline’s ex and mother of his first two kids, Kori and Kaleb, is scheduled to sing the national anthem during opening weekend festivities for the Los Angeles Lighting — part of the International Basketball League.

This might seem like a surprising turn of events, but Jackson has been quietly working on a singing or hip-hop career after taking a turn on “Celebrity Rap Superstar.” “She loves singing, she loves basketball,” said a source close to Jackson. “This will be a great stepping stone for her.” Jackson has some practice singing before sports crowds: She once sang the anthem at an Ultimate Fighting Champion event. Kevin Federline is not expected to attend.

The Sundance Channel announced the lineup for season two of its original music series, “Live From Abbey Road,” which begins June 19.  Mary J. Blige, Sheryl Crow, Herbie Hancock, Kate Nash and Corinne Bailey Rae are among the artists included in the lineup.
