Matt Lauer and TODAY take off on another around-the-world adventure April 28 with the highly anticipated special series “Where in the World Is Matt Lauer?” the show announced Monday.

The weeklong series invites viewers to guess Lauer’s locations from a set of clues and has taken the TODAY co-host all over the world — literally.

From Easter Island, Bhutan and the Great Wall of China to the Swiss Alps, Mount Everest and Rio de Janeiro, Lauer has taken viewers to some of the most beautiful and exotic locations around the globe.

Viewers will be able to follow Lauer’s adventures online at TODAYshow.com, with daily posts to the allDay blog that will include text and video reports.

Lauer will share a behind-the-scenes look at his travels, including details about each stop, a clue about the next day’s location and an opportunity for viewers to comment.

TODAY fans can also participate online with “Where in the World Am I?,” where viewers can upload their photos and guess where other users’ images were taken.

The Web site will also offer travel tips from Peter Greenberg and other TODAYshow.com contributors, video, message boards and photo slideshows.

Lauer’s locales over the past eight installments include Panama, Hong Kong, Moscow, the Pyramids in Egypt, the Taj Mahal in India, the U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt on patrol in the Mediterranean, an active volcano in Hawaii, the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, Machu Picchu in Peru, Skibo Castle in Scotland, Angkor Wat, Monte Carlo and Cannes.
