Kevin Federline celebrated the big 3-0 over the weekend at Pure nightclub in Las Vegas, and no, he didn’t get cozy with his ex Shar Jackson, who is the mother to his first two kids, Kori and Kaleb.

Federline and Jackson did, however, celebrate his birthday mostly “side by side,” according to an onlooker. “You can tell they get along great,” said the witness. “Were they friendly, yes. Flirty? No.”

In addition to hanging out with Jackson, Federline (who “didn’t look fat at all,” according to the witness) drank Jack Daniels and Knight’s Head beer before grabbing the mic and engaging in a profanity-filled speech.

“The speech was really something I’m sure he’d rather forget,” said the onlooker. “But it’s hard to blame him — he has had a lot to deal with lately.”

Paris Hilton’s ‘charity’ tour through Africa
Making good on her post-prison promise to leave her party days behind her and do more charity work, Paris Hilton and beau Benji Madden traveled to South Africa last week, where Madden performed and Hilton swung by the Jakaranda Kinderhuis School to do what else — autograph glossy photographs of herself.

People magazine has an update of the story and reported that Friday night, Hilton organized “a VIP party for herself” in Johannesburg, South Africa. The magazine noted that although she and Madden hung out in the VIP section while her fans partied below, she did announce that she “loved South Africa, the accent and everyone.”

Still no word on those women’s halfway houses she was so excited about building.

  The Scoop hits lucky 13
March 24: Courtney Hazlett talks with Morning Joe's Willie Geist about running her box office predictions to 13-1, and Owen Wilson's box-office dud, "Drillbit Taylor."

Morning Joe

“Horton Hears” a second week at No. 1! The Dr. Seuss adaptation continued its streak through Easter weekend, making another $25 million to bring its two-week total to more than $85 million.

"Meet the Browns," the latest in the Tyler Perry franchise, had a healthy $20 million opening weekend. "Shutter" and "Drillbit Taylor" nearly tied for third. The films made $10.7 million and $10.2 million respectively. Considering the mostly unanimous panning of "Drillbit" and the fact that its star, Owen Wilson, eschewed all press for the film, it didn't do as bad as most would have thought.
