NEW YORK - A woman accused of controlling money for the escort service that led to the resignation of New York's governor has been released on bail.

Cecil "Katie" Suwal left U.S. District Court in Manhattan on Tuesday and has three weeks to pay $50,000 in cash. She was arrested nearly two weeks ago.

The 23-year-old is accused of conspiracy to violate federal prostitution laws and conspiracy to launder illicit proceeds. Prosecutors say she handled the day-to-day operations of the Emperors Club VIP.

She declined to comment as she stepped in to a sedan.

Eliot Spitzer stepped down Monday as governor after he was accused of being a client of the escort service.
