According to a source close to the store, Jamie Lynn and her sister Britney together stopped by the baby boutique on Feb. 25. The jaunt is said to have lasted less than 20 minutes and resulted in the purchase of several items that were light blue in color.
“Britney originally said the items were for herself,” said the source, but the line appeared to be a cover for Jamie Lynn. Among the purchases: organic baby blankets by designer robbieadrian.com, towels and pajamas. “None of the items could have been mistaken for being purchased for the two kids Britney already has,” says the source, who has knowledge of the visit.
Is Will Ferrell’s streak coming to an end?
Although Will Ferrell’s new film “Semi-Pro” made slightly more than $15 million this weekend, enough to earn it top honors at the box office (and keep Scoop’s streak alive), the basketball flick is looking to be Ferrell’s worst-performing film since “Stranger than Fiction,” which earned $13.4 million when it opening in November 2006. (It’s worth noting that “Stranger” opened in 2,264 theaters, while “Semi-Pro” opened in 4,000 screens in 3,121 theaters, according to Box Office Mojo.)
The weekend’s other new releases, “The Other Boleyn Girl” came in fourth, and “Penelope” came in No. 8 at the box office.

What to watch this week
New episodes of your favorite sitcoms might still be a few weeks away, but this week a new notable series begins. HBO’s miniseries “John Adams” begins March 3. Scoop can vouch that Paul Giamatti, who plays the title role, might be at his best in this epic that illustrates the life of the future president during the first 50 years the United States was in existence. Laura Linney, David Morse and Tom Wilkinson also star in the series.
Courtney Hazlett delivers the Scoop Monday through Friday on msnbc.com.
