Rapid City - FEMA has denied South Dakota's request for individual assistance disaster declaration. The declaration would have helped people with property damage from recent flooding from June storms. Governor Mike Rounds says it's unfortunate our state was not able to secure federal support for 35 families whose homes suffered major damage or were destroyed by floods. However, there are still numerous in-state programs offering assistance. If you'd like to know more, contact the Black Hills Red Cross at 888-271-3130.
