Although those little gold statues are meant to be the center of attention this Oscars week, buzz has centered solidly around a possible meeting between Brad Pitt’s past and present flames, Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie.

Both women are listed as hosts for the annual Night Before party, which will be held Feb. 23 at the pool at the Beverly Hills Hotel. A source close to Aniston insists that “it would be no big deal” if Jolie, Aniston and Pitt all occupied the same space.

“She’s over it. She’s moved on. Enough,” said the source. That said, Aniston still could be a no-show, and she’s got the perfect excuse. She’s been busy filming “Traveling” in Vancouver, and her rep says that the production schedule might not allow her to make the trip to L.A.

Exactly what kind of party would bring these women together? An exclusive one, for starters. It’s tough to get past this party’s velvent rope. Part of the reason is that this year’s Oscar-party schedule is lighter in years past, thanks to the writers strike.

The other reason is due to the A-list crowd this event, which benefits the Motion Picture Association, attracts. In addition to Jolie, Pitt and maybe Aniston, expect to see Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Jake Gyllenhaal, among many others. Check back after the weekend to hear who turned out.

Lohan’s father won’t look at her nude pics
That’s right, reformed bad dad Michael Lohan is trying to keep it clean, and that reportedly involves steering clear of daughter Lindsay’s nude photo shoot that appeared in New York magazine.

“I’m not going to look at the photos — that’s my daughter!” he told Usmagazine.com in a telephone interview. “Lindsay is an adult, and she knows the direction she wants to take her career,” he said. “It’s her decision.”

Regardless of Dad’s take on the pics, it’s a decision Lindsay is happy with. Her rep told this column earlier that Lohan “loves” the photos.

Self-serving “Friday Night Lights” news
Because it would be a travesty of justice to see “Friday Night Lights” get cancelled, it’s a pleasure to note that Variety is reporting that NBC, which currently broadcasts the show, is in talks with The CW and TNT, among others, about the possibility of splitting up broadcasting duties. (Msnbc.com is a joint venture between Microsoft and NBC Universal.)

The show might not be a ratings titan, but its viewers are loyal ones. Best Week Ever created an online petition to save the show, but sadly, it was inexplicably taken down. Hopefully “Lights” will be with us another season.

Box-office predictions
Anyone who isn’t racing to catch Oscar-nominated films this weekend will be choosing among four new releases at the box office. “Be Kind Rewind” comes from New Line and is being released in only 808 theaters, which doesn’t make it a good contender for No. 1. Also look for comedies “Charlie Bartlett” and “Witless Protection,” but it’s most likely that the thriller “Vantage Point,” starring Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox and Forest Whitaker, will take the top spot.
