LOS ANGELES - An airline passenger was taken into FBI custody on Sunday after authorities said his "suspicious comment" forced a Los Angeles airport terminal to be evacuated for two hours.

Los Angeles International Airport spokesman Albert Rodriguez said the man and his luggage were searched after he got off a Southwest Airlines flight from El Paso, Texas, at about 2 p.m. Sunday. No weapons or explosives were found.

Flights carrying a total of more than 1,800 passengers were delayed. Rodriguez says operations returned to normal about two hours later.
