LAKESIDE, Ohio - Four people died in a plane crash in rural northwest Ohio, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department said Saturday.
The plane crashed just before 1 p.m., Deputy Jennifer Mansor said. The crash was near the Erie County Regional Airport.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Department, the Fremont Post of the State Highway Patrol and other agencies were responding to the crash scene.
The plane was a twin-engine Cessna 340, which usually seats six passengers, the patrol said.
Meanwhile, a light airplane was reported to have crashed into Tampa Bay near St. Petersburg, killing at least one person.
