Bob Saget reportedly doesn't judge his "Full House" on-screen daughter, Ashley Olsen's love life. "All I want for them is what they want," he says.

Danny Tanner didn’t get the chance to tell little Michelle how to date during “Full House,” and Bob Saget isn’t about to start judging when it comes to the real life of his on-screen daughter, Ashley Olsen.

“You can’t give an age (for what is appropriate) — my girlfriend is younger than me,” said Saget, when we asked for his thoughts on the Lance Armstrong/Olsen dating rumors.

“All I want for them is what they want: to date someone nice, who is nice to them and gets them. That’s all anyone ever wants. I’m not a good person to ask because I have a dating age and it’s easy to critique,” Saget said.

For folks who recall Saget’s raunchy turn in “The Aristocrats,” (and that’s putting it lightly) rest assured, Saget will be censoring himself as he starts hosting duties on “1 vs. 100” Jan. 11.

“I can say a few subversive things, I guess,” Saget conceded.

Celebrity swag report
One of the great paradoxes of celebrity existence is that once you’re making enough money to buy things, you get what your want for free. This tends to be a fairly shameless process, with the celeb asking and in turn receiving, but kudos to Kanye West for just dropping hints.

West posted an extensive report on his blog about the darling of the Consumer Electronics Show: the Panasonic 150-inch plasma screen TV. Not sure what kind of traffic Kanyeuniversecity.com gets, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say this helps his odds for being moved up the waiting list when the TV debuts in 2009.

And, from the there’s-a-clothing-deal-for-everyone files: New York’s favorite nearly nude crooner, The Naked Cowboy, has landed an agreement with The Weatherproof Garment Co. His status as a bona fide celeb is debatable, but the company was so concerned about the Cowboy’s well being during the winter months, they’ve agreed to supply him with weather-resistant clothing for life. What a relief.

Scoop on different kind of Globes
Jan. 11: Courtney Hazlett talks with Morning Joe's Willie Geist about what will happen, and not happen, at the Golden Globes on Sunday and the fallout in Hollywood.

MSNBC

I just landed in L.A. for what I thought would be a trip centered around the Golden Globes ceremony (which is now a press conference). While I’ve only been on the ground a handful of hours, I can report that no matter how vacuous you consider the showbiz industry to be, the depressing reality of the writers’ strike is palpable and inescapable. And I’m not just talking about the writers themselves or out-of-work actors.

Consider a clothing designer I spoke to, whose business has all but disappeared; a hairdresser whose quality of life largely depends on his success during awards season; and a messenger who can’t find work because there is simply nothing left in this town to messenge. Look no farther than the banners lining Hollywood Boulevard advertising the Golden Globes. They aren’t just ironic. They’re representative of a big picture that is increasingly sad. Let’s hope this strike ends soon.

Weekend box office: What’s the story with ‘Juno’?
This weekend, the three biggest releases include the much-hyped Jack Nicholson/Morgan Freeman comedy, “The Bucket List”; “First Sunday,” starring Ice Cube and “30 Rock” star Tracy Morgan; and animated film “Veggie Tales: The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything.” Since “The Bucket List” will be shown on more than 2,900 screens, I think the smart money is on this film.

As an aside: “Juno,” the indie film about a teen who becomes pregnant was No. 1 at the box office from Jan. 7 to 9. To put it in perspective, “Juno” dethroned “National Treasure: Book of Secrets,” which was No. 1 for 17 consecutive days. Two questions: Does the $55 million “Juno” has taken in officially strip the flick of its indie status, and is there any way we can trace this film’s success to Jamie Lynn Spears’ pregnancy? Just asking.
