NEW YORK - Jamie Lynn Spears’ pregnancy has put the issue of teenage sex back in the forefront of many people’s minds, including Rosie O’Donnell’s.

The former “View” moderator blogged on her Web site that one of her own children, 10-year-old Chelsea, asked her about the news.

“Here is how it went, ‘Mama, u know the lady with the umbrella and no hair, [her] sister is a teenager and she is having twin babies!’” O’Donnell recounted Chelsea said.

“What do u think about that chels?” O’Donnell asked her daughter.

“Teenagers can have babies?” Chelsea asked.

On her blog, O’Donnell noted that she used the opportunity to give her daughter advice over.

“Yes they can,” she answered in response to the question. “And it is never a good idea.”

O’Donnell said her daughter then asked about why Jamie Lynn didn’t take precautions.

“Y didn’t she take pills that make u not have a baby,” O’Donnell noted her daughter said.

The always-vocal celeb was short on words for how to prevent teen pregnancies.

“It is not 1950,” she wrote. “Education.”
