LOS ANGELES - Kevin Federline knew about the pregnancy of Jamie Lynn Spears before his ex-wife Britney, according to a new report.

A source told Us Weekly that Lynne, the mother of Jamie Lynn and Britney broke the news to Kevin first, to warn him.

“Lynne mentioned it to warn him that the media would be going crazy,” a source told the magazine.

Lynne reportedly asked the father of Sean Preston and Jayden James to keep the news quiet.

“She asked him as a favor not to say anything to anyone. She wanted him to be prepared,” the source said.

Lynne appears to be taking a big role in helping 16-year-old Jamie Lynn with her pregnancy news. She reportedly secured the feature with OK! Magazine, and according to that article, which hit news stands earlier this week, she’ll be helping out Jamie Lynn and baby-daddy Casey Aldridge, once the child is born too.

“I’m sure Jamie Lynn and Casey and Casey’s family will be helping also. We’ve got great community support,” Lynne told OK! “I want her to ask me to help as much as she wants me to because I will be there for her.”

As for the teenager’s own upcoming parental role, Jamie Lynn said she thinks she’ll be a good mother thanks to lessons she’s learned from her own family.

“I love babies, and I have nephews that I love,” Jamie Lynn said. ” I have a great mom and she has raised three kids, so if I take lessons from her. I think I’ll be great. All my friends have little brothers or sisters.”
