ABBA to get three-floor museum in Sweden

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - New details have emerged concerning the plans for a Swedish museum dedicated to pop super-group, ABBA.

The three-floor museum, which will be dedicated to the music, clothing and history of the pop four piece, will feature a host of fun places for fans to immerse themselves in their favorite ‘70s pop obsession.

The BBC reports that among the three floors, there will be a wardrobe room, a disco room (where fans can show off their moves), and a section where fans can record their own version of their favorite ABBA songs.

The four piece band — Benny Andersson, Frida, Agnetha Flatskog and Björn Ulvaeus — will donate pieces from their four-decade career, but they will reportedly have no formal association with the museum, the BBC reported.

Organizers announced the museum last November and slated its opening for 2008, but they now said it will open in June 2009.

ABBA hasn’t performed together since 1982.

The hit musical “Mamma Mia!,” based on their music, has grossed over $2 billion worldwide.

The movie version of “Mamma Mia!,” starring Meryl Streep, will be released on July 18, 2008.
