Dec. 18: Twelve years after his blockbuster, Titanic, hit movie theaters, will James Cameron’s Avatar have similar audience appeal? NBC’s George Lewis reports.

TV on DVD:

“The Man From U.N.C.L.E.: The Complete Series” — The 1960s spy series arrives on DVD in its entirety with a 41-disc package containing all 105 episodes. A small-screen answer to James Bond, the show starred Robert Vaughn and David McCallum as agents for the United Network Command for Law Enforcement, an agency battling a shadowy group bent on world domination. Extras include interviews with the two stars and other collaborators and segments on the shows gadgets, music, women and guest stars. The set is available exclusively from Time Life (www.timelife.com). DVD set, $249.95. (Time Life)

“24: Season Six” — The U.S. government bails Kiefer Sutherland out of hellish imprisonment in China — and promptly turns him over to terrorists for execution. But of course, his day is just beginning as the bad guys set off a nuclear explosion on American soil and Sutherland’s Jack Bauer races to prevent other bombs from going off. A seven-disc set has all 24 episodes from the sixth year, plus deleted scenes and commentary. DVD, $59.98. (20th Century Fox)

“Saturday Night Live: The Complete Second Season” — An eight-disc set packs all 23 episodes from the late-night comedy show’s 1976-77 season, which saw Chevy Chase depart but Bill Murray join the cast that included John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd and Gilda Radner. DVD set, $69.98. (Universal)

“Battlestar Galactica: Razor” — Ten days after its TV premiere, the feature-length movie spinoff of the sci-fi series lands on DVD. Featuring Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell and other series cast members, the tale follows the journey of a sister battleship that survives the sneak attack that virtually wipes out humanity. DVD, $26.98. (Universal)

“Will & Grace: Season Seven” — The sitcom starring Debra Messing and Eric McCormack as roomies returns in a four-disc set with the seventh year’s 24 episodes. DVD set, $44.98. (Lionsgate)

“Diagnosis: Murder — The Third Season” — Dick Van Dyke is back as the offbeat doctor who solves crimes in his spare time. A five-disc set has season three’s 18 episodes. DVD set, $54.99. (Paramount)

“7th Heaven: The Fifth Season” — The wholesome family show led by Stephen Collins, Catherine Hicks and Jessica Biel continues in a six-disc package with all 22 episodes from year five. DVD set, $54.99. (Paramount)

“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit — The Fourth Year” — The New York cops specializing in sex crimes are on the job again with a five-disc set containing season four’s 25 episodes. DVD set, $59.98. (Universal)
