Mary-Kate Olsen sickened by kidney infection

Actress hospitalized in New York; rep says she’ll be out in day or so

LOS ANGELES - Mary Kate Olsen has reportedly been hospitalized with a kidney infection.

The young actress went to the emergency room of a New York City hospital, according to a report in People.

“Mary Kate got a kidney infection,” her rep told People. “She’s resting comfortably and will be released in the next day or so.”

Mary Kate has battled health problems in the past. She recently talked to Entertainment Weekly about her battle with anorexia saying, “There’s definitely been times in my life when I just turned to people and said, ‘I’m done, this is too much for me, this is too overwhelming.’ ”

As for her health post-rehab, “Mentally, physically, I feel pretty on top of my game right now,” she told Entertainment Weekly. ‘‘Talk to me next week, I don’t know. Today, I feel good.”

The actress is currently enjoying a successful stint on Showtime’s “Weeds.”

Mary Kate’s sister Ashley Olsen was recently linked to cyclist Lance Armstrong, but the Tour de France champion has denied any relationship with the young actress.
