MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Actress Kate Beckinsale was treated at a Memphis-area hospital over the weekend, Access Hollywood has learned.
The British beauty went to the hospital on Sunday afternoon after experiencing numbness in her left arm and left leg, a source revealed to Access.
The source said the actress was concerned after experiencing the numbness for a couple of days. However, she was reportedly not in any pain.
Doctors treated Beckinsale and determined the problem was due to exhaustion and that she hadn’t been compliant with her regular medication, the source added.
When contacted by Access, a rep for Beckinsale said the reason the actress had gone to the hospital was to accompany her assistant who sprained her ankle.
Beckinsale is currently in Memphis shooting the drama “Nothing But The Truth,” alongside Matt Dillon and David Schwimmer.
The film follows a Capitol Hill reporter (Beckinsale) who faces going to jail for outing a CIA agent and refusing to reveal her source.
“Nothing But The Truth” is slated to hit theaters in September 2008.
In other Beckinsale news, it was recently announced she would not be returning for the upcoming third installment of the “Underworld” franchise.
Beckinsale starred in the first two “Underworld” films, which grossed more than $200 million combined worldwide. However, she will not appear in the upcoming film, “Underworld 3: The Rise of the Lycans,” which serves as a prequel to the first two.
It was also announced that Beckinsale’s husband, Len Wiseman, would not return as director of the next “Underworld” film, however, he will stay on board as producer.
“Underworld 3: The Rise of the Lycans” starts production in January in Auckland, New Zealand.
