Olympic National Park, from $149 per room per night
About a three-hour drive from Seattle, Kalaloch Lodge is located atop a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It's an ideal location for watching dramatic winter storms roll over the sea—from a safe, cozy distance.

The Storm Catcher 2008 package includes accommodations in a room at the Seacrest Building, complimentary mugs, a package of Starbucks coffee, two rain ponchos, and breakfast. Details: Hotel taxes are an additional 12.66 percent. Rooms sleep up to four people and cabins and suites sleep up to six people; rates are based on doubly occupancy and there is $12 fee per extra guest. Bring a pet for a $15 fee. San Juan Islands, $358 per room, 2 nights
The Spa Getaway package at the Rosario Resort on Orcas Island, part of the gorgeous San Juan Islands about 80 miles northwest of Seattle, includes accommodations in a Bayside King room overlooking Cascade Bay and two massages (one per person). You'll also receive a 30 percent discount on any additional spa treatments and a 30 percent discount on dining at the Mansion Dining Room or Moran Lounge (note that the discount doesn't apply to alcoholic drinks). Rates are $259 per room, based on double occupancy, for the first night—and then drop to $99 per room for a second night (savings of more than 60 percent).
