Airline waives fees for travelers affected by fires

PHOENIX - US Airways is waiving some fees for customers traveling to or from Southern California who need to change their flights because of the wildfires.

The carrier said Tuesday it will revise its fee policies for customers who had travel plans between Monday and Friday this week.

Those flying to or from Southern California airports will be able to delay or move up their flights by up to seven days without paying extra fees. The airline also won't charge the standard fee if customers want to change their flights altogether.

The airline said the waiver might not apply if tickets were bought from third-party discount companies or Web sites.
