Spears released from hospital Feb. 7: The pop star left after less than a week, and soon the paparazzi were right behind her, trying to capture her every move. NBC’s Michael Okwu reports. |
LOS ANGELES - Britney Spears is playing by the court’s rules — and passing with flying colors. Well, at least when it comes to one of the rules.
Britney has had no problem passing her court-ordered drug tests, according to her attorney.
“She’s passed her random drug tests,” attorney Sorrell Trope told People. “There’s been more than one. They came up negative.”
Trope also told People the pop star has a “good” shot of regaining split custody of her two kids — Sean Preston and Jayden James — “based on the overall circumstances of the case.”
On Sept. 18, Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled that Spears would have to undergo random drug and alcohol testing.
In court documents obtained by Access Hollywood, a judge ordered the tests, stating “Based on the Evidence presented, the Court finds that there is a habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol” by Spears.
At the time, the court said the results of those tests would not be made public.
