LOS ANGELES - David Hasselhoff has been hospitalized, Access Hollywood has learned.

“David had a brief relapse and immediately recognized the importance of addressing it with the assistance of his doctors. He is doing fine and will be back home in the morning,” his rep Judy Katz told Access Hollywood.

The confirmation came on the heels of a story first reported by The National Enquirer, which said the 55-year-old actor was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for detox.

“He looked awful when they brought him in,” The Enquirer quoted a source as saying. “His color was ashen. He felt sick. It was just so sad.”

In May, a video of an inebriated Hasselhoff (recorded by his 16-year-old daughter Taylor Ann) showed the actor lying on the floor of his home slurring his speech and attempting to eat a hamburger.

In the clip, Hasselhoff’s daughter is heard pleading with her father to stop drinking once and for all.
