LOS ANGELES - Paula Abdul is ready to be a mom.
The “American Idol” judge, who is dating restaurateur J.T. Torregiani, said she hopes to bring a gurgling little tot into the world.
“That’s the next step in my life,” Abdul told USA Today. “Definitely within the next two years. I thought by now I’d have three grown children.”
The 45-year-old former pop star hinted she might use the healthcare system to have her own little mini Paula or perhaps, Paul.
“With modern medicine, people are having kids in their 40s and even up until their late 40s,” she noted. “In their 50s, they’re having their second child.”
If she cannot have a child “naturally,” Abdul said she would “consider adopting.”
Abdul did not say she plans to have a child with her new boyfriend Torregiani, whom she has been dating for just four months.
“He’s a positive force that has come into my life right now. Where it leads, who knows?” she said.
Torregiani, though, has taken to Abdul’s beloved canines.
“My chunky dog, Tulip, is in love with him,” she said. “He pays so much attention to her that she thinks she’s the queen.”
