Hetty Chang

Hetty Chang is a general assignment reporter for News 3. But she is no stranger to Sunbelt Communications. She moved here in August 2007 after reporting for the Reno sister station and she now considers Las Vegas her second home. A southern California native, Hetty is thrilled to be a short road trip from her first home, Cerritos, California.

Hetty is an Emmy-nominated reporter who was first bitten by the news bug as a little girl.

As cliché as it sounds, she always looked up to the newscasters she watched on TV. But she knew for certain she wanted to be one of those newscasters when a big news story quite literally landed in her neighborhood.

It was in the 80s when an AeroMexico DC-9 took a nose drive straight into a row of homes, five houses away from hers. She was fascinated by all the news crews which camped out in her neighborhood, and the stories they told.

Hetty is a UCLA graduate (Go Bruins!) and a proud graduate of Whitney High School (read all about it in the book "School of Dreams").

When she is not chasing the news, you can find Hetty exploring Las Vegas. Her passion in life is food and she is excited to be in Las Vegas where the restaurant choices seem endless!

Hetty is fluent in Chinese. She is a member of the Asian American Journalist Association. You can watch her reports on the 4, 5, and 6 weekday newscasts.
