LAS VEGAS - With the MTV Video Music Awards fast approaching, the question on everyone’s mind has been whether Britney Spears will open the show, as has been rumored.

“Access Hollywood” is sharing breaking news that may put those questions to rest!

A source tells “Access” that there is “a very strong chance Britney will open the MTV VMAs.”

The big show will be broadcast Sept. 9 from the Palms Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

Other acts scheduled to perform include Kanye West, Timbaland, Fall Out Boy, Chris Brown, the Foo Fighters, Lil’ Wayne, Nelly Furtado, Common, Gym Class Heroes and Rihanna.
