ATLANTA - Usher and Tameka Foster reportedly tied the knot in Atlanta Friday, almost a week after the last-minute cancellation of their lavish wedding on July 29.

The two reportedly exchanged vows in a private ceremony in Usher's lawyer's office sources told Chicago Sun-Times columnist Stella Foster. A source also confirmed the news to People magazine.

Usher's mother, Jonetta Patton, attended the simple ceremony, according to Stella.

Patton's alleged “disapproval” of Foster was one of the speculated causes of last weekend's cancellation, along with rumors of arguments over wedding plans and a disagreement over the prenuptial agreement. Tameka, however, dismissed those rumors last week.

“No one knows why we canceled the wedding,” Foster told People. “But, I can tell you that all of the reasons that everyone is speculating and writing about are completely untrue.”

Foster declined to reveal any further details to the magazine about the cancellation. She did however confirm a report that she had a medical incident relating to her unborn child with Usher.

“We had a scare, but I am fine and the baby is fine,” Foster said. The couple's baby is due in the fall.

A source also told People that it was never a question that they would marry at some point and that Usher, 28, “wants to be there for a baby.”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, guests were notified that the July 29 wedding had been called off. The event was due to take place at the Hamptons home of famed record executive L.A. Reid. Usher and his groomsmen were planning to wear Armani.

According to People, the couple had spent $10,000 on invitations alone, and had lined up singer Robin Thicke to perform and renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, along with Sylvia's of Harlem, to cook.

At the time, Usher's publicist Patti Webster released a statement. “It was announced today that the wedding ceremony for Usher Raymond IV and Tameka Foster was canceled. No additional information will be given regarding the circumstances of the cancellation, but we hope the privacy off this matter will be respected.”
