NEW YORK - Naomi Watts has given birth to a bouncing baby boy.

Baby Alexander Pete Schreiber was born Wednesday, July 25, at 3:59 p.m. He weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces and was 22 and ½ inches long.

Shortly before the Oscars, rumors began swirling that Watts’ was pregnant. Watts showed off her growing baby bump on Oscar night in a strapless yellow Escada gown. The fashion house seemed to give away her secret releasing a statement on the night saying Watts’ dress “set off her most precious new asset — the baby she is expecting with longtime boyfriend Liev Schreiber.”
