Walters says Lohan spoof on ‘Leno’ crossed line

Also, Kelly Ripa wants Lindsay to see physical agony caused by DUI

NEW YORK - Barbara Walters thinks Jay Leno went over the line when he had Rob Schneider on as a guest dressed like Lindsay Lohan.

The real Lindsay Lohan was scheduled to be on the “Tonight Show” last night, but as Leno joked, she was already booked.

So, Schneider came out instead, wearing a black dress, blonde wig and an ankle bracelet he made believe was filled with alcohol.

Walters said on “The View” that even though she knows comedians will make fun of Lohan, “it just seems so mean.”

Elisabeth Hasselbeck says she stops feeling badly “when a person who’s drinking gets behind the wheel of a car when 43-thousand people a year are killed by drunk drivers.”

Meanwhile, Kelly Ripa has an idea about how to possibly scare Lindsay Lohan straight: have her spend time with Ripa’s sister, who was nearly killed by a drunken driver.

Ripa said on “Live With Regis and Kelly” she’d like Lohan to see “the physical agony a person lives with” after being hit by a drunken driver.

Ripa would also talk to Lohan about “wasting opportunities and what a blessing it is each day just to get up in the morning and to be healthy.”

Ripa says “it’s very sad” and she’s “very concerned for all of these girls that are making the news lately.”
