NEW YORK - Randy Hubbard Parker, the son of Simone G. Parker and rap star KRS-One, was found dead in his Atlanta apartment this past weekend. The Fulton County Atlanta Medical Center lists the cause of death as a suicide. He was 23.
According to a press release, his mother cites “severe depression” as the cause of her son’s sudden death.
Randy Parker, originally from Queens, N.Y., was a graphic designer and reportedly was seeking employment in the Atlanta area.
A private memorial service will be held in Florida July 17, which would have been Randy Parker’s 24th birthday. Plans for a memorial service in New York are under way.
