Pizzeria serves up a steamy side of porn

Sex sells in Canada; Fleiss airs dirty laundry; microbrew for rednecks

It’s not the secret pizza sauce. It’s not the blend of Italian cheeses. And it’s not the spicy pepperoni.

So, what is it that makes this pizza so popular? Porn.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, sex sells. And Canadian entrepreneur Corey Wildeman is exploiting this well-worn business adage to its fullest by serving steaming hot pizza — with a side of steaming hot pornography. And he has certainly aroused attention.

When you order a pizza from Porno Pizza in Winnipeg, Manitoba, you get a pornographic photo on the bottom of the cardboard box. The racy image is revealed as you eat the pizza.

Wildeman opened up his pizzeria last month and wanted to create a buzz. He needed a marketing gimmick. He got his inspiration from classic porno flicks where “pizza delivery guys meet lonely ladies and deliver more than just pizza,” he said.

According to the 30-year-old purveyor of pizza and porn, his enterprise is completely legal. Customers must show identification proving they are at least 18 before getting their pie.

Surprisingly, according to Wildeman, more than 75 percent of his clientele are women.

"I'm pretty pleased to see that a demographic that some people might think that we're offending is actually a lot more open to the concept than society would think," he said.

Not everyone in Winnipeg is pleased. “We live in a society that is so steeped in porn that people have it delivered to the dinner table,” Roz Prober of child advocacy group Beyond Borders lamented in the Winnipeg Free Press.

Not-so-bad ideas

  • Heidi Fleiss is finally coming clean. Fleiss made millions — and a name for herself — more than a decade ago as a upscale madam. In 1993, her sordid empire crumbled when she was arrested and later convicted in connection with her prostitution ring. In the process, she aired the dirty laundry of some of Hollywood’s leading men.

The “Hollywood Madam” — always the entrepreneur — announced this week that she has opened a Laundromat in the Death Valley town of Pahrump, about an hour outside of Las Vegas.

Fleiss is waiting for the legal red tape to untangle in her efforts to open up a legal brothel in Pahrump. In the meantime, she needed a little income. But why a Laundromat?

"Something made me do a Laundromat. ... I need to work, I love to work and someone said a Laundromat, so a Laundromat it is," Fleiss told FoxNews.com.

The name of her venture: “Dirty Laundry.”  Somehow, I don’t see Charlie Sheen dropping by to do a load.

  • “Rednecks love quality, too.” That may not equal “King of Beers” as a slogan for a beer company, but it works just fine for SchillingBridge Winery & MicroBrewery.

The company from Pawnee City, Neb., has introduced Git-R-Done beer, in homage to the town’s favorite son: Larry The Cable Guy (aka Daniel Lawrence Whitney).

Mike Schilling, owner of SchillingBridge, says Git-R-Done will appeal to the sophisticated microbrew drinker and fans of Larry The Cable Guy.

Schilling says the special brew is a light beer with “more flavor and body” than  your run-of-the-mill domestic beer.

When a brewery starts making Carrot Top Pale Ale, you’ll know we’ve hit the bottom of the keg.
