NEW YORK - Lindsay Lohan and her mother Dina are being sued by a photographer who was allegedly struck by a car driven by Lindsay in New York on March 13, Access Hollywood has learned.

According to the court papers, Giovanni Arnold claims he "sustained severe and permanent personal injuries" due to the incident.

The lawsuit was filed on Thursday in New York State Supreme Court, Bronx County.

Arnold claims Lindsay was the driver and Dina is the owner of the car.

In the lawsuit, he states the defendants (Lindsay and Dina) were "negligent, careless and reckless" with the vehicle, causing him personal injury and economic loss.

He is asking the court for a sum of money "which exceeds the jurisdictional limits of all lower courts which would otherwise have jurisdiction."

No specific amount was given in the court papers filed on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Lindsay was on the David Letterman show and during her interview, played a game of "Fact or Fiction" where Letterman ran down different tabloid rumors about the actress.

When asked if it was true she drove over a photographer's foot, Lindsay joked "No, but I should ... the guy completely faked it. Amazing."
