There are 212 orangutans in captivity, 91 males and 121 females — 86 borneans, of which 33 are males and 53 females, 88 sumatrans, of which 39 are males and 49 are females and 38 hybrid orangutans of which 19 are males and and 19 are females. Hybrids are a mix of borneans and sumatrans.
