Britney Spears and an unidentified passenger were pulled over this weekend for speeding in Beverly Hills.

Sgt. Mike Foxen of the Beverly Hills Police Department confirms that Spears was driving along Sunset Boulevard on Friday when she was stopped at 8:45 p.m. PT.

According to Sgt. Foxen, Britney was warned about her speed and let go — she was not cited.

Sgt. Foxen tells "Access Hollywood" that he cannot confirm exactly how fast she was driving (or what the posted speed limit was), since no paperwork is filed when a driver is issued a warning.

According to a report in PEOPLE, Spears had been working out at the Millennium Dance Studio earlier that day, getting into shape to return to performing. She also has reportedly been in the recording studio with music producer JR Rotem, whom she briefly dated.

“Everyone talked about how happy she looked to be back in the studio,” a source told PEOPLE. “She came in focused from the start. She’s always been a pro when it comes to her music.”
