Whether your hair is flat and fly-away or your skin is dry and dreary, say bye-bye to your biggest beauty woes this winter with a little help from some new and noteworthy products.  Bobbie Thomas, TODAY style editor and author of “the Buzz” for In Touch Weekly, offers tips on how to beat the winter beauty blues.

Face fixers
Winter winds and cool conditions can leave your face feeling ultra dry. But before you load up on lotion, consider how you wash your face first. Some cleansers can strip your skin of moisture, so look to products that will condition as you clean. While Ponds Cold Cream ($7.89, drugstore.com) is a classic, Shu Uemera’s Cleansing Oil ($60-70, Saks Fifth Avenue) and Noah’s Naturals Honest to Goodness Milk Cleanser ($8.53, noahsnaturals.com) are also great softening staples. And if you’re headed into chilly temperatures, check out individually-packaged Model Co Heat Caps ($28, Henri Bendel, 1-800-H-BENDEL). These multi-tasking capsules heat up in your hands and claim to cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize all at once.

Retexturize and moisturize with spa treatments that are now available to-go. From putting themselves in a jar to harnessing the power of snake venom and bottling up their best-selling facial, skin gurus are coming to the rescue with at-home must-haves. Kate Somerville’s Kate In A Jar and Deep Tissue Repair with Peptide K8 are celeb favorites ($85-150, katesomerville.com), while Sonya Dakar’s UltraLuxe collection uses synthetic snake venom to relax (or paralyze) the muscles like Botox, but without a surgical procedure ($185, Barney’s New York). And Bliss Spa has taken their top-selling in-spa Triple Oxygen treatment and turned it into the Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask — a do-it-yourself facial product that hydrates and stimulates dry and sluggish skin ($65, blissworld.com).

The Lip Scrub

While these products will help your face feel refreshed, don’t forget to protect your pout! For best results, exfoliate first and then lube up your lips. Try The Lip Scrub to slough away dead skin ($20, thelipscrub.com), and then nourish chapped lips with a balm that does double duty like Lorac’s Vitamin E Stick, which can also be used under your eyes ($16, sephora.com), Boscia’s Jujube Salve Stick, which acts as a problem solver for the entire face and body ($16, boscia.net) or Tarte’s FRXtion, a two-sided exfoliant and lip balm ($11, tartecosmetics.com). Simple moisturizers like Fresh’s Sugar Lip Balm SPF 15 ($22.50, fresh.com) or Shea Organics Lip Butter ($3) are two smoothing sticks that will make you love your lips.

Body bliss
Can’t shake the cold? Indulge in hot scrubs and nourishing baths. Warm up with Bliss Hot Salt Scrub, a self-heating gel that disintegrates tough skin and leaves your body feeling silky smooth ($36, blissworld.com). Or keep a pair of exfoliating gloves handy, which are great to rub-a-dub-dub once you’re inside the tub (Aromafloria Healing Waters, 4.99, drugstore.com). For a dose of relaxation, draw a warm bath with one of Cornelia’s Soaking Teas. From skin soothing and muscle relaxing to tranquility and detoxifying, these teas are filled with over 85 organic healing herbs designed to warm your skin and refresh your soul ($89 for a five pack, cornelia.com). Meanwhile, Naturopathica’s Deep Forest Bath and Body Oil opens sinuses and clears lungs, while hydrating skin and soothing sore muscles ($32, naturopathica.com).

Cuddl Duds

Moisturizing is the main event in your winter beauty regimen, and you can find fabulous fixes at your local drugstore. Vaseline’s new Intensive Rescue range provides long-lasting hydration ($2.99-8.99, Walmart stores), while Nivea’s body collection is designed to keep your skin smooth and silky ($4-7, trustedbeauty.com). But when your body can’t seem to beat the brutal winter weather, check out a breakthrough idea that is making over the way we think about moisturizing. Internal skincare companies are encouraging women to hydrate from within, with pills that claim to counteract the effects of the elements on your skin. Imedeen’s Time Perfection tablets ($180 for three-month supply, imedeen.us) and VitaMedica’s Flax Seed Oil and Hyrating Neutraceutical capsules ($18-44, VitaMedica.com) are a few of the internal skincare products already on the market.

And if you’re still suffering from lack of moisture, add an extra layer of benefits! What you wear can do wonders for your skin, thanks to a new technology that infuses fabric with hydrating ingredients. Cuddl Duds Skinsations offers clothing that conditions the skin with small microscopic moisturizing agents ($22-28, figleaves.com), while Sof Sole, Apara Jammies and Airplus for her Spa Therapy socks are all infused with aloe and Vitamin E nutrients, which remain in the fabric for approximately 25 washes ($5-8, local drugstores). And speaking of your feet, Bootie Pies are the perfect solution for cold weather pedicures. These cozy boots keep your feet warm, while your wet toes are exposed ($128, bootiepies.com).

Finally, in freezing temperatures, don’t forget to take care of your tresses. Treat your hair from root to tip with therapies that counteract the cold. Kérastase's Nutro Gluco Active range selectively treats different levels of dryness and provides optimal nourishment from root to ends, making it a favorite of beauty experts everywhere. Make time for masks like Oscar Blandi’s Trattamento al Fango ($26, sephora.com) to keep not only your locks, but also your scalp conditioned. Hard water can harm your hair, so invest in a filter for your showerhead. Aquasana Shower Filter helps soften the water, so your hair stays light and bouncy ($84.99, aquasanastore.com).

Avoid hat hair (even when you need to wear one) by using a root volumizer with a direct aim spray nozzle. Matrix Vavoom Take Me Higher Root Riser ($13.95, matrix.com), Blow Hair Care’s Blow Up volumizing mist ($5-15, blowstylingsalon.com) and G line BOOST Root Lifting Foam ($16, 800-600-3662) are all great options. Fredrick Fekkai has created a winter hair collection, which features products like the Anti-Static Weightless Mist and the Thermal Restore Insulating Treatment, which address cold weather issues such as fly-aways, drying, chapping and breaking ($15-25, Frederick Fekkai salon and spas).

And last but not least, the right tools can make all the difference. Wooden combs can combat static, while digitally controlled tools like the Hair Dr. Jade Air medicated hair dryer is not only hot — it’s fast! You’ll love the fact that less drying time equals less damage ($185, hairdr-spela.com). And the HAI Elite Rod ceramic curling iron can straighten or curl hair and is great for getting volume at the root ($210, hai-elite.com).
